La Patronal is a unique brass band rooted in the traditions of the ‘fiestas populares’ and ‘patronales’ from the Andes in South America. Don’t miss this chance to see a one of kind ‘banda’ and enjoy a festive evening at one of Manhattan’s greatest world music venues!
La Patronal members are direct descendants of rural musicians from Peru. They use this knowledge of folk culture in combination with their formal music studies to preserve their heritage while also bringing it to contemporary audiences. Their lively performances encourage public participation and dancing with contagious percussion, vibrant brass and winds.
